Terms of Use

These terms govern your use of Reset: Brain & Focus (“Reset”, “the app”). By downloading or using the app you agree to them. If you do not agree, please do not use the app.

What Reset is

Reset is an educational app about research on attention, habits, memory, learning and cognitive biases. It provides lessons, quizzes, practical challenges and a focus timer.

What Reset is not

Reset is not medical advice, diagnosis, or treatment, and it is not a substitute for care from a qualified professional. It does not diagnose or treat any condition, including attention disorders, anxiety, depression or sleep disorders. If something is seriously affecting your sleep, mood, relationships or ability to function, please speak to a doctor or a qualified health professional. Reset makes no promise of any specific outcome, and does not claim to improve intelligence, permanently change your brain, or guarantee results.

Your account and your data

Reset has no account system. Your progress is stored on your device. You are responsible for your device and for any backup of it. Deleting the app deletes your progress permanently, and we cannot restore it because we never had a copy.

Subscriptions

The first five lessons are free. Reset Premium unlocks the remaining paths and features, and is offered as an auto-renewing subscription:

• Weekly and annual options are available. The exact price is shown in the app before you confirm, in your local currency.
• A 3-day free trial may be offered to new subscribers. If you do not cancel before the trial ends, the subscription begins and you will be charged.
• Payment is charged to your Apple ID at confirmation of purchase. Subscriptions renew automatically unless auto-renew is turned off at least 24 hours before the end of the current period. Your account is charged for renewal within 24 hours before the end of the current period.
• You can manage or cancel your subscription in your Apple ID settings: Settings → your name → Subscriptions on your iPhone. Deleting the app does not cancel a subscription.
• Any unused portion of a free trial is forfeited when you purchase a subscription.

Refunds

All purchases are processed by Apple, so refunds are handled by Apple and are subject to their policies. Request one at reportaproblem.apple.com. We cannot issue refunds directly because we never receive your payment.

Licence

Reset is licensed to you, not sold. We grant you a personal, non-transferable, non-exclusive licence to use the app on any Apple device that you own or control, as permitted by the App Store Terms of Service. This licence does not allow you to use the app on a device you do not own or control, or to distribute it over a network.

These terms are between you and us only, not with Apple. Apple is not responsible for the app or its content, and has no obligation to provide support or maintenance for it. Apple and its subsidiaries are third-party beneficiaries of these terms, and on your acceptance Apple has the right to enforce them against you. Any claim that the app fails to conform to a warranty may be directed to Apple, which may refund the purchase price; beyond that, Apple has no warranty obligation. Apple is not responsible for addressing any claim relating to the app, including product liability, regulatory compliance, or intellectual property claims. Where these terms are silent, the Apple standard End User Licence Agreement applies.

Acceptable use

The lessons, text, illustrations and design in Reset are our intellectual property. You may use them for your own personal learning. You may not copy, redistribute, resell or publish the content, or attempt to reverse-engineer the app.

Content accuracy

We work hard to describe research accurately, to cite real sources, and to state honestly how strong the evidence is for each claim. Science changes, and summaries are always simplifications. Lessons are provided for general education and should not be relied on as professional advice of any kind.

Availability and changes

We may update, change or discontinue features. We may add or change lesson content. If we materially reduce what a paid subscription includes, we will say so in the release notes.

Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Reset is provided “as is” without warranties of any kind, and we are not liable for indirect or consequential damages arising from your use of the app. Nothing in these terms limits any liability that cannot lawfully be limited, including your statutory consumer rights.

Governing law

These terms are governed by French law. Nothing here removes mandatory consumer protections available to you under the law of your country of residence.
